When Barry Palmer retired in 2008, he entrusted the Sevtec plans and kit business to Amphibious Marine. We still supply parts for our do it yourself line, and builders have taken their own craft on trips of up to 1,400 miles.
We stock hundreds of items, from pre-built skirts and hulls to lift fans, propellers, structural cores, rudders and the 54 inch duct. Plans are available for seven Sevtec models: the Scout, Vanguard, Surveyor, Geoduck, Prospector, Explorer and Mariner. One builder bought a Vanguard pre-built hull, skirt and stainless drive frame and now explores the lower Columbia River in it.
The Surveyor 16 is also sold as a kit. Kit configurations vary a lot, from plans and parts to a nearly finished craft, so call us at 360-661-0875 and we will work out the kit that fits your build.
The Geoduck is a Barry Palmer design, a 4 to 5 passenger craft on an 8 by 16 to 18 foot hull. The name is a play on words: the craft used a Geo engine, and the geoduck is a clam native to our Puget Sound. Dozens of Sevtec style kit craft fly the 40 Mile River (Fortymile River) around Chicken, Alaska, supporting individual gold claims.
The newest completed build belongs to Mark, in the Shetland Islands: a gas powered Explorer 22.
